About me…

My name is Diane Ricker and I have been planning weddings and events throughout six different states in the DMV, and mid-Atlantic region for 16 years. I always had a love for event planning, and have tailored my experience since high school to become highly trained in this field. I started my journey with summer jobs interning at a wedding planning agency, working as a banquet server, and also at a retail bridal salon. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Communications in preparation for a career in event planning. After college, I worked as a non-profit and corporate meeting planner for several years, while also earning my International Wedding Planning Professional certification (IWPP). I have been part of a team that planned conventions for 5,000 attendees, and also planned 25 meetings per year all over the country as the lead meeting planner for a corporation. My love of special events is what convinced me to start my own business. I truly love working with clients to create and execute their perfect vision.

How I can help…

My goal is to take away the stress of the day so that my clients are able to enjoy themselves without worrying about what is happening behind the scenes. With my experience, I am able to help you every step of the way by suggesting venues and vendors, site visits and contracting, communicating and working with vendors, on-site coordination, setup, and post-event cleanup and follow-up. I can help as much or as little as you wish. I believe that the success of an event lies in the preparation and details. The thought that goes into those little touches will make your event memorable. I specialize in helping clients plan within a budget, assisting with DIY projects, negotiating contracts, décor design, and timeline/itinerary building. I also have a large collection of event supplies and décor that I make available to my clients to help alleviate costs. I always remain calm and am a great problem-solver, so my clients don’t have to worry about anything on their big day. You can see some photos of my past events in my photo gallery.

My services

My packages and rates are posted on my Pricing page. I like to be very transparent with my pricing so you can see immediately how much my services will cost. I offer full planning, partial planning, and day-of options, as well as an hourly price. If my packages don’t seem to meet your needs, I’d be happy to customize a package for you so that we can work together.
